OUR STORY
GONDWANA Mobility Technology Transformation (GONDWANA) is an R&D development precinct incorporated within a Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) standardisation mobility facility developed by an Australian-based international alliance. GONDWANA’s futuristic mobility proving ground facility plus Queensland’s 165,000km of world class highway networks throughout the state and 500,000kms of off road and tracks, will provide full-services for R&D prototype testing and type approval for all passenger, commercial, heavy vehicle, electric vehicle, motorcycles and autonomous vehicles. GONDWANA is ideally suited to a diverse range of future-focused mobility leaders, from automotive manufacturers, vehicle homologation companies, component manufacturers, world and Australian racing teams homologation programs.
Our vision is for GONDWANA to quickly become the world’s leading mobility proving ground and R&D location for developing the latest automotive products and technologies. GONDWANA’s mobility tenants will leverage state-of-the-art private proving ground facilities and world-leading test houses and laboratories, and have full access to GONDWANA’s dedicated mobility R&D, engineering and design university campus and extended supply chain partners.
We’ve been listening to the needs of mobility’s future leaders. We are GONDWANA – Australia
Our vision from the outset was to create a world-leading automotive development and test facility on open land in Australia, to enable the whole of Asia, and also to service European and North American interests, with a fully integrated facility designed to support all OEMs and all mobility advancement needs on one site.

FROM THE CEO
Greetings,
My name is Curly Frater and I am the CEO of GONDWANA, writing to you on behalf of our ambitious project, GONDWANA Mobility Technology Transformation Australia, an Automotive 4.0 R&D Proving Grounds. With two expansive sites covering 1100 Ha in total, we are creating a sophisticated hub for automotive development, testing, inspection, certification, and homologation designed specifically around the stated needs of the OEM, Tier #1 and TIC operator industry.
Site ‘1’ is a meticulously designed facility that caters to a wide spectrum of vehicles, including small, medium, and large passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles. Site 1 is equipped with a plethora of specialised circuits, test-beds, and test-houses, many of which are pioneering in their respective fields. Our mission here is to ensure the most exceptional product capability, endurance, and sustainability while preparing these innovative technologies for mass production.
We pride ourselves in staying ahead of the curve by integrating the newest market feedback into our infrastructure. Our facilities, designed to address specific industry challenges told to us by you the customer, are poised to set the global standard for proving grounds. With state-of-the-art technologies like in-road and roadside V2X infrastructure, autonomous vehicle control, and V2V and V2X technologies, GONDWANA is positioned to lead in mobility design, development, and testing.
We’ve also introduced two groundbreaking environmental tunnel designs at Site ‘1’. These tunnels allow us to test vehicles under varied motorway and weather conditions and facilitate a thorough analysis of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles.
Both our sites are strategically located next to a 24/7 international freight airport, providing unparalleled global logistics connectivity. Furthermore, our facilities incorporate cutting-edge telecommunications and cybersecurity technologies in the automotive sphere, supported by an exclusive on-site R&D centre focusing on Next Generation technologies including quantum mobility computing and 6G design and development.
The goal of site 2 is to serve as an experimental sandbox and mobility proving ground for next-generation technologies extending beyond the automotive industry. A key feature here is the 25-kilometer Testing Technology (TT) circuit, designed to simulate real-world driving conditions. This circuit, along with a dedicated facility for the development of autonomous vehicles, allows for rigorous testing of vehicle performance, safety, durability, and fuel efficiency.
Site ‘2’ also houses advanced labs, prototype development centres, and experimental test areas, fostering the development of innovative technologies in sectors like renewable energy powertrains, e-fuels, robotics, AI, and more. We also host conferences, workshops, and forums, fostering collaboration between industry leaders, academicians, and innovators.
We also have a dedicated Driver Training and Road Safety Centre of Excellence, the Motorcycle Development, Testing, and Rider Training Facility, and the Automotive Tertiary and Further Education Precinct at Site ‘2’. These facilities promote safety, performance, and learning, respectively, in the automotive industry.
In conclusion, our GONDWANA Proving Grounds, with its twin sites, is more than a testing and certification company; it’s an innovation hub. We are not just testing vehicles; we are engineering the future of mobility.
Kind Regards,
Curly Frater
